With the containers displayed in yard views (on page 1), you can begin moving containers by selecting, sequencing, placing, and, if needed, reverting and resequencing them from the yard to the vessel.
To see how the various elements of selecting, sequencing, load work queues, and resequencing fit together, it is helpful to look at the following examples, which cover the basic grounded yard configurations and planning techniques:
Select and flowing similar containers (on page 1) from a yard block into a vessel bay
Plan from the center line outward
Plan twin lifts
Plan paired 20's
Plan twinned jobs
Sequence alternate rows in straddle areas (on page 1)
Sequence alternate blocks in ASC areas (on page 1)
Resequence containers (on page 1)
Set the door direction for containers on the vessel (on page 1)
Use group codes to segregate and plan containers
Manage work queues
Predefined work patterns (PWP) affect how planned containers are sequenced to stowage positions on the vessel. If your operation uses PWP (available if you have licensed the Quay Commander option), see the manual Navis N4: Vessel Administrator and User Guide.
Notes
After manually sequencing projections, you can always revert to PWP by selecting the containers or projections and resequencing them starting with zero (0) (Planning Resequence).
To prevent XPS from automatically resequencing work instructions in vessel queues whenever a vessel is closed and reopened, set the XPS setting RESQON to N. For information on XPS settings, see Changing the settings file for the XPS client.
